Production mixing and room audio management

Allen & Heath offers digital mixing consoles including dLive, Avantis, SQ, Qu, and CQ, alongside AHM matrix processors for installed sound. Console selection depends on input count, monitor mixes, recording needs, operator experience, and the complexity of the events.

AHM processors address room and zone management in commercial spaces. Network audio, control interfaces, and expansion options vary by model. Feedback suppression and acoustic echo cancellation on supported AHM models require the appropriate processing expansion.

Console, stage I/O, and zone integration

XL AV plans stage connections, input and output maps, house loudspeaker feeds, monitor sends, and recording or streaming paths. We verify the compatibility of console interfaces, stage boxes, expansion cards, and network audio devices before specifying them.

Configuration includes channel labels, routing, gain structure, scene recall, and permissions where supported. In a multipurpose venue, we define which settings a scene should recall and which must remain protected so a change of event mode does not overwrite essential system settings.

Preparing for routine events

Provide an event input list, anticipated performers, stage layout, and monitoring requirements. We use those details to plan operator presets and training. For rooms without a dedicated engineer, discuss whether a matrix processor and wall controls will cover routine uses alongside a console for larger events.
