Impact-resistant face and trim
A protective LED mask keeps air-inflated sports balls off the diodes. Micro-grooves help perceived contrast. Perimeter trim protects edges as part of the mechanical design.
Sports
A gym is PE, sport, assembly, and rental on the same floor. XL AV specifies an indoor LED wall that can do that work, with scoring as a layout and audio, lighting, and control specified with the display.
A gymnasium display that only works on Friday night is unfinished. Staff need a wall they can use for PE, open gym, a varsity game, and an assembly without calling a vendor to change modes.
XL AV specifies LUXVISION PROLUX Rugged for that room: Canadian-made indoor dvLED, P3.3 or P4, impact-resistant mask and trim, full front service. Score, clock, announcements, and sponsor content share the same 16:9 canvas.
Basketballs, volleyballs, and daily PE are the normal load, not an edge case. A consumer or lobby LED wall will not last in that environment, and a sealed numeric board cannot run the rest of the calendar.
PROLUX Rugged uses quarter-turn metal-to-metal modules, a protective face and perimeter trim, fanless Mean Well supplies, and a 7-year warranty context that includes air-inflated sports-ball impact. XL AV surveys, installs, commissions, and trains the people who will run it.
Gym lighting is often left on for PE and mixed for events. The wall has to stay readable without being driven to its maximum. PROLUX Rugged pixels capable of about 3,900 nits are operated around 2,100 nits. When lighting control is in the project, we coordinate game, assembly, and open-gym scenes with the display.
A finished gym wall with speech that cannot be understood from the far baseline is not a finished gym. We specify PA, program audio, and a game horn with the display when audio is in scope, or we integrate the system already in the room.
PE staff, game operators, and rental users should not each need a different remote. We specify a control path so score, video, audio, and lights can be run as one system. LUXVISION typically uses NovaStar processing. Operators are trained at commissioning.
We start with the room: dimensions, viewing distance, how it is used, structure, power, and whether audio, lighting, and live video are in the project. Then a specification, coordination with the facilities team, installation, commissioning, and operator training. Spare modules stay on site so a failed cabinet is swapped, not left dark.
PROLUX Rugged
A protective LED mask keeps air-inflated sports balls off the diodes. Micro-grooves help perceived contrast. Perimeter trim protects edges as part of the mechanical design.
Earlier rugged products could lose magnetic modules on a hard hit. PROLUX Rugged uses a quarter-turn metal-to-metal interlock so modules stay on the wall and still service from the front.
Current PROLUX Rugged warranty context is 7 years, including impact from air-inflated sports balls.
Modules, cabling, and feeder access are designed from the front. That is required when a gym display is mounted tight to a wall with no rear aisle.
Gyms collect dust. Fans ingest that dust and then fail. PROLUX Rugged uses the cabinet as a heat sink with Mean Well supplies. There is no cooling fan in the documented architecture.
Pixels capable of about 3,900 nits are operated around 2,100 nits. The intent is less heat and less electrical infrastructure than driving the diodes to their maximum.
Scoring is one job on the wall. The same display runs PE, assemblies, and rentals. If you only need a clock, say so. Most gyms need the rest of the calendar too.
Size follows farthest seat and whether score, clock, and video share the canvas. We map that from the room.
Yes. PROLUX Rugged is full front service, including feeder cabling, so a rear aisle is not required.
Yes. Weather-exposed stadium faces use a different LUXVISION family.
