Displays and signal path

XL AV designs and installs video systems: LED displays, commercial flat panels, production equipment, projectors and screens, switching, and signal distribution.

Display type, resolution or pixel pitch, mounting, processing, and control are selected for viewing distance, ambient light, and content requirements.

Sources, switchers, extenders, and displays are configured for compatible formats and reliable switching. For LED, structure, pixel pitch, processing, and service access are part of the design.

For projection and flat panels, brightness, screen or panel size, and control of power and inputs are specified with the room.

LED display solutions for the application

XL AV designs LED display systems around the audience, content, and operating environment. We assess viewing distance, screen dimensions, ambient light, required detail, camera use, mounting, and service access before selecting the display series. Pixel pitch and physical screen size together determine the available image resolution.

For rental and staging, touring, or worship spaces that need flown or ground-stacked displays, LUXVISION ECOLUX Hanging X can suit the mechanical arrangement. Its available factory-flown and ground-stack systems support different stage layouts. We review load requirements, handling, power and data distribution, camera settings, and the proposed assembly method.

For meeting rooms and boardrooms, LUXVISION ECOLUX HD X uses fine-pitch chip-on-board LED technology. It can support detailed presentation content at closer viewing distances when the screen dimensions and selected pitch provide sufficient resolution. We coordinate presentation switching, conferencing, audio, and room control with the display.

For signage, LUXVISION ECOLUX Standard or ECOLUX HD X can be selected according to viewing distance, text size, content detail, and display dimensions. Media players, publishing software, scheduling, brightness settings, and maintenance access are planned as part of the signage solution.

For indoor sports rooms exposed to ball impact, LUXVISION PROLUX Rugged addresses a different requirement with mechanically fastened modules, secured cabling, and impact-resistant trim. We evaluate it where impact protection is relevant to the room use.

Every LED solution includes compatible processing, structure, power, data, source connections, and operator controls. We verify image mapping and playback during commissioning and discuss spare parts and service requirements within the project scope.

Presentation screens

Commercial flat panels and tiled video walls

Commercial displays are selected for the viewing distance, content, room lighting, operating schedule, and installation orientation. XL AV evaluates commercial flat panels against those requirements, checking the operating ratings and supported control methods for the exact model.

For a tiled video wall, the design includes panel alignment, bezel layout, source mapping, and access to service individual screens. For meeting rooms and classrooms, we position screens so users can read the required content from the intended seats without obstructions.

We coordinate mounts, electrical power, signal distribution, source selection, and scheduled operation where required. Where a large continuous display surface is appropriate, a LUXVISION LED wall can also be evaluated against image size, content detail, infrastructure, and service needs.

Optical design

Projection & screens

Projectors, lenses, and screen surfaces matched to image size, throw distance, audience positions, and room light.

Projector, lens, and screen selection

XL AV specifies projectors and screens together. Projector selection considers image size, brightness, resolution, throw distance, lens compatibility, and available mounting positions. Screen selection includes the surface, viewing angles, aspect ratio, and whether a fixed or motorized arrangement suits the room.

We review ambient light, sightlines, ceiling services, power, signal cabling, cooling, and maintenance access. Short-throw and rear-projection designs require particular attention to geometry and clearance. Optical placement is established before relying on electronic image adjustments.

Commissioning checks image framing, focus, source formats, and normal startup and shutdown sequences. Motorized screens can be coordinated with room controls using supported interfaces. Multi-projector alignment and blending are defined separately when the project requires them.

Production, recording & streaming

Camera inputs, production switching, monitoring, and audio feeds connected for events, recordings, and remote audiences.

Video production connected to the room

XL AV integrates production equipment for worship, education, and event spaces. The system can include production switching, recording, cameras, conversion, and routing according to the programme requirements. The design starts with the source count, destinations, required formats, recording needs, and operator roles.

We plan camera and presentation inputs, operator multiview monitoring, recording storage, and streaming connections. Resolution, frame rate, input conversion, and output compatibility are checked across the proposed equipment. Network and internet requirements are coordinated with IT when streaming is included.

Audio is routed from the room mixer or DSP to the required production outputs. A separate streaming mix may be needed for remote listeners. We check audio and video timing, recording playback, and camera views with the room displays and lighting in use.

Connected sources

Switching & signal distribution

Source formats, cable distances, EDID, and content protection checked across the complete video path.

Compatible switching, extension, and AV-over-IP

A video system must carry the required signal format through every component. XL AV checks resolution, frame rate, colour format, supported bandwidth, cable distances, and connection types before selecting switchers, extenders, converters, or network endpoints.

EDID communicates display capabilities to a source; HDCP manages protected content across compatible devices. We configure supported settings and test the intended sources so switching and display behaviour match the design. Different display resolutions may require scaling or a defined common output format.

For AV-over-IP, we coordinate bandwidth, switch configuration, multicast handling where required, addressing, and access permissions with IT. USB transport and conferencing connections are included where specified. Compatibility is verified for the chosen platform and devices.

Daily operation

Room control & commissioning

Source selection, display operation, audio timing, and presets tested together, with controls staff can use.

Testing, control integration, and handoff

XL AV configures supported controls for display power, input selection, source routing, and room presets. Where audio, lighting, screens, or shades are included, we coordinate the operating sequences so the selected room mode sets the required equipment.

Commissioning checks each intended source and destination, image framing, switching, audio playback, and normal operating sequences. Camera applications require checking display settings, exposure, and potential flicker or moire with the intended camera positions. Performance checks are defined against the project requirements.

Handoff can include equipment lists, cable and source labels, signal-flow drawings, configuration backups, and operating instructions within the agreed scope. Training covers routine source selection, presentation, recording, and shutdown. Maintenance access and support responsibilities are discussed during design.

Information for a video consultation

Send room drawings or photographs, available display dimensions, audience positions, and typical lighting conditions. Include examples of the content, especially detailed text, spreadsheets, scores, or live camera images. These help establish display size, resolution, and LED pixel pitch.

List presentation sources, cameras, conferencing platforms, recording or streaming requirements, and existing equipment. Tell us who will operate the system, whether rooms need to share content, and any network or access restrictions.

Project timing, budget range, electrical availability, mounting conditions, and service access help XL AV define a suitable scope. For LED projects, the consultation also covers display processing, infrastructure, and coordination with room audio and lighting.
