LED scoring systems

Scoring should live on the same indoor wall as video, not on a sealed three-digit cabinet. XL AV specifies the processor, operator station, and the path into audio and lighting.

Indoor LED display specified by XL AV

Score as a layout, not a separate box

A dedicated numeric readout cannot show timeout video, introductions, or a school presentation. Putting score and clock on a processor-driven 16:9 wall means the same canvas can do the rest of the gym calendar.

XL AV specifies LUXVISION PROLUX Rugged as that wall. Timing, if required, is integrated into the processor path. We will not describe a PROLUX cabinet as a four-digit shot-clock SKU.

Operators have to be able to run it

A scoring system that only a technician understands will not be used correctly on a Tuesday night. We size the controller to the pixel map, set up game and practice layouts, and train the people who will sit at the table.

The hardware is still a gym product: impact-resistant face, front service, fanless supplies, onsite spare modules.

Lighting

Score and clock have to read under gym lighting. We operate PROLUX Rugged around 2,100 nits and coordinate lighting scenes with timeout and game looks when control is in scope.

Sound

The horn and PA are part of scoring. We specify or integrate them with the wall so the operator is not reaching for a second system to end a period.

Control

Score, clock, video, and audio should share an operator path. LUXVISION typically uses NovaStar processing. Room control sits beside that. Staff are trained at commissioning.

How we deliver the project

We start with the room: dimensions, viewing distance, how it is used, structure, power, and whether audio, lighting, and live video are in the project. Then a specification, coordination with the facilities team, installation, commissioning, and operator training. Spare modules stay on site so a failed cabinet is swapped, not left dark.

Typical uses

  • Score and clock overlays
  • Stat graphics
  • Timeout playlists
  • Practice-mode branding

PROLUX Rugged

The indoor wall

Impact-resistant face and trim

A protective LED mask keeps air-inflated sports balls off the diodes. Micro-grooves help perceived contrast. Perimeter trim protects edges as part of the mechanical design.

Quarter-turn metal-to-metal modules

Earlier rugged products could lose magnetic modules on a hard hit. PROLUX Rugged uses a quarter-turn metal-to-metal interlock so modules stay on the wall and still service from the front.

7-year sports-impact warranty

Current PROLUX Rugged warranty context is 7 years, including impact from air-inflated sports balls.

Full front service

Modules, cabling, and feeder access are designed from the front. That is required when a gym display is mounted tight to a wall with no rear aisle.

Fanless thermal design

Gyms collect dust. Fans ingest that dust and then fail. PROLUX Rugged uses the cabinet as a heat sink with Mean Well supplies. There is no cooling fan in the documented architecture.

Under-driven, efficient LEDs

Pixels capable of about 3,900 nits are operated around 2,100 nits. The intent is less heat and less electrical infrastructure than driving the diodes to their maximum.

  • Canadian-made PROLUX Rugged indoor dvLED
  • Known pitches: P3.3 and P4
  • Cabinets: 1280 by 720 mm (~58") and 1600 by 900 mm (~72"), both 16:9
  • Common 16:9 walls from about 116" to 347" diagonal by arraying cabinets
  • Operating brightness about 2,100 nits (LED capability ~3,900 nits, under-driven)
  • Up to 16-bit colour and ~4,200 Hz refresh in the documented generation
  • Fanless Mean Well power supplies; no hub-board architecture
  • 7-year warranty context including air-inflated ball impact

Questions

Do you sell a standalone shot clock?

We specify scoring as layouts on an indoor LED wall, with timing in the processor path when the sport requires it. Ask if you need separate clock hardware.

Can stats and sponsor content share the wall?

Yes. They are layouts, not extra cabinets.

Who runs the system on game day?

Your staff. We train them at commissioning and leave a control path they can actually use.

Is this indoor only?

Yes. PROLUX Rugged is an indoor gym platform.
