Switching, recording, cameras, and routing

Blackmagic Design supplies production equipment including ATEM switchers, HyperDeck recorders, cameras, converters, and routing products. XL AV evaluates these products for worship, education, events, and facilities producing live video or recordings.

The design starts with camera and presentation sources, destination displays, streaming platforms, and recording requirements. Input types, resolutions, frame rates, and conversion requirements vary by model and must be checked across the complete signal path.

Connecting production to the installed room

We plan SDI, HDMI, or supported network connections, operator monitoring, source labels, and the required outputs. Audio feeds from the mixing or DSP system are coordinated with the production equipment, including a separate stream mix where needed.

Commissioning checks source compatibility, switching, recording formats, storage, playback, and audio timing. Where content feeds a LUXVISION LED display, we coordinate the production output with the LED processor and the room control system. Camera exposure and lighting settings are reviewed with the display in operation.

Defining production requirements

Provide camera counts, presentation inputs, streaming destinations, recording duration, and staffing details. Explain whether staff need a simple recurring programme or full production control. These details determine switcher capacity, monitoring, storage, cabling, and operator training.
