Cafeteria and Cafetorium AV Integration

Audio, displays, and controls for everyday dining, assemblies, presentations, and performances.

XL AV integrates cafeteria and cafetorium systems around the room’s changing layouts, sound conditions, staff operation, and event requirements. We help schools and universities plan daily communications alongside larger gatherings.

Planning, implementation, and handover

Plan dining, assemblies, and performances

Define the room layouts and activities before selecting equipment.

A cafeteria may need announcements, background music, and information displays during meals. A cafetorium also serves assemblies, presentations, awards, and performances. XL AV reviews those activities with staff so daily operation and event production are planned together.

We document table layouts, audience seating, stage positions, partitions, serving areas, and equipment storage. Clear sightlines, circulation, accessible routes, service access, and changes between layouts influence the AV design.

Speech clarity in a busy dining space

Address coverage, background noise, and reverberation.

Hard surfaces, kitchen activity, ventilation, and conversation can make announcements difficult to understand. XL AV reviews loudspeaker coverage, microphone positions, and listening conditions for dining and event layouts.

DSP equalization and delay alignment help configure the system, but room reverberation and background noise can also require acoustic treatment or building changes. We coordinate those findings with the relevant team and test speech at representative audience positions.

Paging, music, and audio zones

Route daily messages to the intended areas.

Dining, stage, overflow, and adjacent areas may need independent sources and levels. We define microphone inputs, playback connections, paging routes, and staff permissions, including which announcements take priority over local programme audio.

Where the room connects to campus paging, XL AV coordinates the interface and priority behaviour with the selected system and responsible specialists. Emergency messaging follows the institution’s approved procedures and specified system requirements. Routine AV operation does not establish life-safety compliance.

Stage sound and performance inputs

Provide appropriate connections for speakers and performers.

Assemblies and performances may need handheld, headset, or lectern microphones, instrument connections, playback, and stage monitoring. We establish input counts, wireless requirements, mixing positions, and the activities staff or student crews will operate.

A simple daily preset can support announcements while trained operators have access to event mixing. Microphone placement, gain structure, loudspeaker direction, and stage-monitor levels are considered together to manage feedback and support clear sound.

Presentations and LED media walls

Size the display for the audience and actual content.

Presentations, event graphics, student work, and live camera images need different levels of detail. XL AV evaluates display dimensions, viewing distance, ambient light, stage geometry, and mounting when comparing commercial flat panels, projection, and LED displays.

LUXVISION ECOLUX HD X can suit a permanent detailed-content display when the viewing distance and configuration fit. ECOLUX Hanging X can suit reconfigurable stage displays with appropriate flown or ground-stack support. We specify processing, source connections, brightness settings, service access, and content layouts around the room’s use.

Signage and everyday information

Keep meal information and school messages current.

Displays can present menus, event schedules, campus announcements, student achievements, and approved community information. XL AV plans media players, publishing access, schedules, and display operation for the institution’s chosen content system.

Staff agree who owns and updates each content area. A presentation display can also show signage when suitable, with controls that return it to the expected daily source after an event. Displays near serving or cleaning areas need suitable placement and equipment protection.

Partitions and flexible room controls

Coordinate audio and video when the layout changes.

Where movable partitions divide the space, each area may need independent microphone, playback, display, and volume controls. Combined-room operation requires defined source sharing and audio routes, with partition sensing or manual selection where specified.

XL AV tests each agreed room state, including paging priority and the transition between modes. Staff controls can provide clearly named dining, assembly, presentation, and performance presets, with additional settings restricted to trained operators.

Lighting, recording, and hybrid events

Include the production functions needed for each event.

Stage and presentation lighting can improve visibility for the audience and cameras. We coordinate fixtures, control scenes, mounting, and power with the room layout and building team. Brightness and reflections are checked alongside the displays.

Recording, streaming, and remote speakers require suitable cameras, capture or conferencing equipment, audio feeds, network access, and operators. We define separate room and recording mixes where needed and test the complete event path, including remote audio and presentation playback.

Daily operation, commissioning, and handover

Make changes between meals and events repeatable.

XL AV commissions the agreed layouts using representative speech, music, presentations, and room controls. Testing covers audio zones, display visibility, microphone operation, partition modes, paging interfaces, and the intended startup and shutdown sequence.

Training covers routine staff operation and any additional production duties. Handover includes the agreed configuration backups, system records, operating instructions, and support responsibilities. Equipment storage, secure racks, protected connections, and cleaning access are coordinated with facilities.
