Processing for installed audio networks

BSS provides installed audio processing platforms. Soundweb OMNI is an open-architecture DSP platform with Dante networking, support for centralized or distributed processing, and conferencing and automation capabilities.

XL AV evaluates processor capacity, network channels, analog interfaces, and control requirements against the system design. A campus or large venue may need several zones and source priorities, while a smaller room may need a more limited processing and I/O arrangement.

Designing the processing configuration

We define the signal flow before programming: which microphones and playback sources reach each zone, how paging priorities work, and which controls staff can use. Processing can include equalization, filters, delay, dynamics, and loudspeaker protection according to the selected hardware and application.

For existing BSS systems, we review model numbers, software versions, configuration files, and network connections. A change of platform requires a compatibility review rather than assuming that an older configuration can be transferred directly. Conferencing functions require the appropriate signal routing and commissioning checks.

Documentation and future expansion

Provide a zone schedule, source list, paging requirements, and details of existing processors. XL AV documents channel assignments, control functions, and configuration according to the agreed scope. Spare processing and network capacity can be considered when future rooms or sources are already planned.
