Loudspeakers for distributed and performance sound

JBL Professional offers ceiling, pendant, surface-mount, column, and performance loudspeakers. The Control families cover many distributed sound applications, while CBT controlled-coverage columns and larger point-source or line-array systems address different audience layouts and output requirements.

XL AV evaluates these options for meeting spaces, education, worship, hospitality, and sports facilities. Selection starts with speech or music requirements, mounting positions, listening distances, and the level needed across the occupied area.

Coverage, amplification, and installation

We specify coverage patterns, quantity, spacing, amplifier channels, and processing together. For distributed systems, the design includes loudspeaker tap settings and amplifier load calculations. Performance systems may need subwoofers, fill loudspeakers, and separate processing for each coverage area.

Mounting hardware, attachment points, cable routes, and access for service are coordinated with the site. Commissioning checks polarity, output levels, routing, equalization, and delay where several loudspeaker groups overlap. We verify the selected manufacturer presets and protection settings against the installed models.

Planning a JBL audio project

Provide seating plans, ceiling heights, available mounting locations, and details of existing amplifiers or processors. Tell us whether the system will carry announcements, background music, live performance, or several of these uses. In an LED display project, loudspeaker positions also need to preserve sightlines and display service access.
