Planning, implementation, and handover

Plan quiet study, group work, and events

Give each activity an appropriate AV system and operating mode.

Libraries and learning commons can contain silent study areas, collaborative tables, enclosed group rooms, teaching zones, and event spaces. XL AV begins with the activities, occupancy, furniture layouts, and staff responsibilities in each area.

We identify where sound is welcome, where it needs to remain contained, and which spaces need independent operation. Movable furniture and future changes influence display positions, connection points, cable routes, and equipment access.

Collaboration tables and group study rooms

Make sharing work straightforward for students and staff.

Group spaces can include a shared display, wired presentation connections, wireless sharing, and local controls. We check the actual laptops, tablets, and managed devices the school or university supports, including adapters, network access, and charging requirements.

Where groups need remote participation, cameras, microphones, loudspeakers, and conferencing connections are designed together. We define how users select the room equipment, adjust volume, and clear their session before the next group arrives.

Displays for teaching and shared information

Match the display to the content and viewing positions.

Interactive flat panels can support annotation and small-group instruction. Projection can suit larger presentation areas where lighting and screen placement allow it. Display sizing considers text, diagrams, seating, glare, and the farthest intended viewer.

For larger shared canvases, XL AV can integrate LUXVISION ECOLUX HD X LED displays when viewing distance and detailed content suit the configuration. LED walls need appropriate processing, mounting, service access, brightness settings, and content layouts; touch interaction requires separately specified equipment.

Sound coverage and acoustic coordination

Support clear speech while protecting adjacent study areas.

Open spaces need careful loudspeaker placement, coverage, and level control. Presentation microphones and DSP are configured for the intended speaking positions, with separate audio zones where activities require them.

Equalization cannot remove a long reverberation time or sound travelling through an open doorway. We identify when acoustic treatment, partitions, doors, or layout changes need coordination with the building team. Assistive listening and captions are considered with the institution’s accessibility requirements.

Bookable rooms and staff controls

Define the reservation and daily operating workflow.

Room booking panels can show availability and reservations where the selected platform supports the institution’s calendar system. We coordinate accounts, licensing, network access, permissions, and the information displayed outside each room.

Controls can provide familiar source selection, volume, and shutdown functions across multiple rooms. Occupancy-based actions, timed shutdown, and session resets are specified where supported and tested against actual use, including occupied sessions and after-hours access.

Signage, directories, and library communication

Help visitors find services and keep information current.

Digital signage can present opening hours, workshops, room information, student work, campus announcements, and service updates. Interactive directories can help visitors locate rooms or departments when paired with suitable mapping and directory software.

XL AV plans displays, media players, network connections, and publishing permissions. Library staff and campus teams agree who maintains content, room names, and schedules. Emergency message integration is coordinated with approved institutional procedures and the selected system’s capabilities.

Presentations, workshops, and community events

Adapt shared areas for speakers and teaching sessions.

A learning commons may host author talks, orientations, faculty workshops, or student presentations. We plan microphone inputs, display destinations, playback, and operating presets for the agreed event layouts.

Recording and streaming require defined cameras, audio feeds, capture equipment, platform access, and operator responsibilities. Staff can have a simple presentation mode while trained users have access to additional production functions. Recording permissions and retention policies remain part of the institution’s workflow.

IT integration, testing, and handover

Make the system maintainable across rooms and academic terms.

We coordinate AV network requirements, device naming, guest access, wireless sharing, equipment security, and service access with IT and facilities. Public-use equipment needs defined account ownership and a practical process for removing personal content and ending user sessions.

Commissioning checks representative student devices, group-room independence, speech coverage, display visibility, booking functions, and routine controls. The agreed handover includes staff training, equipment and configuration records, and support responsibilities. Phased upgrades can retain suitable equipment while improving the spaces that need attention first.
